Eco Chic

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

As Yumi & Laurie continues to increase sales across the country; I am very aware of the “Eco Chic” movement evolving in America. This is a fabulous emerging new world of stores carrying cutting edge “eco chic and eco friendly” products in fashion, accessories, and home furnishings.

It is a great time to be a part of this new landscape: as we all have the commitment to bring luxury and organics to the consumer As I see “eco chic” emerging; the entrepreneurial spirit is clearly alive and well; in spite of what we are hearing about our economy.

Here are some of the fabulous stores that are making “Eco Chic” a great place to be!

Circular Store – Anchorage, Alaska

Atomic Garden – Oakland, California

Visionary Boutique – L.A., California

Nomad – Boston, Massachussetts

Uma – St. Louis, Missouri

Yumi and Laurie.comAs the weather gets to be an almost unbearable 90 degrees in lovely Southern California, it’s time to hit the beach and take to the waves for a little cool down. This year, my beach bag will be stuffed with the very chic, generously oversized blanQuettes by Yumi & Laurie. The stylish and lightweight blankets are more than big enough for two people to sunbathe or four to sit comfortably and picnic outdoors.

Plus, the 50% organic cotton and 50% bamboo blanQuettes are 100% fashionable and make as big a splash outside lounging in the sun as they do adorning a bed or chaise in the house. Why not enjoy the yummy, spa quality feel in both places since the blanQuettes are machine washable and easy to care for.

My personal favorites are the Furano and Laguna lines, which start around $195 for the 6′6″ x 4′9″ Turkish style blanket + towel hybrids.
